Kids and adults alike adore warm apple slices cooked with cinnamon and sugar. In the South, this type of cooked apple dish is referred to as "fried apples," even though they're really cooked on the stovetop or in our case, the slow cooker.

Add the ingredients to the pot, set it for 6 hours, and wake up to a house filled with the sweet, homey aroma of lightly spiced baked apples. Enjoy them on their own or use them as a lovely topping for pancakes, French toast, or waffles.
