How To: Post a Message

All members can post message board messages. While some forums have posting restrictions (you may have to be a member for a certain period of time, for instance) you can usually post messages wherever you like and most forum hosts are happy to see new members participating. Just make sure you abide by the forum's rules, which are often found on the start page (Click the "Start" tab).

Posting a message is as easy as typing your words and hitting the "Post" button. Check out this How To guide to learn how to use our formatting editor to add links, colors, special fonts, and more.

Hi Brenda,

You may have selected Follow at the top right of the forum page.  This option can send you email notices for every new post in every discussion, which I suspect is what's happening.

To turn that off,  go to your regular My Forums page (click on the profile picture top right) and then click on My Profile.  Look for the tab that says My Forums.  Once you click on that, look at the right hand side of the page for My Subscriptions.  Click on it.  Is About Smoking Cessation Forum  listed? If yes scroll to Manage Subscriptions and remove it from that page (click the red X)

That should take care of it.

Let me know if you have any more trouble with it.

T.

Hey Terry

I'm not sure where I should be asking this question.  Yesterday you put up some fantastic posts in the 'Quit Smoking Library'.  Thank you.

I, especially, was inspired by Dee's 4 year milestone 'A Thing Called Hope'.  It was a post I don't think I have read before and I always find Dee inspirational and encouraging.  However, when I wanted to respond to this post, I couldn't find how to.

Can you help?

Hi Sue,

The Library folder is set up as read only, meaning members cannot post.  The reason for this is to keep it easy for all of you to access the reading material without needing to sort through other messages that might be posted.

Hope this helps!

Hugs, T.

Hey Terry

Thanks for that - now I understand.

It's always great to have things to read in the library - sometimes I know I've read them before but they seem to take on greater meaning the further along this journey I travel.

I'm so grateful to this Forum.
