Why We Like The Treeline Rain Shell
With the Treeline Rain Shell clipped to our pack, we're ready for nature's surprise tantrums. When the first fat raindrop splats our cheek and the wind starts to howl, we quickly shrug into the watertight jacket and cinch the hood tight just as the sky dumps. The pack-friendly hand pockets keep our snacks and topo dry, while the adventure-ready design moves with us as we push onward through the sideways torrent.

short sleeves
- Size Bought:

I really like this jacket. At 5'8 and 160 with broad shoulders and the Large fits very nicely, with room for a light fleece or heavy wool underneath. The sleeves however, are about 4 inches short when I bend my elbow. I'd prefer the sleeves to be 5-6 inches longer, so I might hide my hands inside during a good rain. As is, I'll have to roll the sleeves of my clothing up so they don't get wet. I'll keep it though, as the sale price was incredible.

Almost-Perfect Lightweight Rain Jacket
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- Medium
For the price, the features and quality are terrific--it's an ideal jacket for warm or cool weather. At 5'7" 30#, a medium leaves enough room for a light sweater or for some air flow in warmer temps.

Kept me dry in rain and hail
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- M
I bought this to replace another, lighter shell and was nervous about the added weight but it ended up being an upgrade. It kept me dry in 3 hours of rain and hail without wetting through, and consistently kept the wind out. Not the lightest option on the market, but the lightest is flimsy and wets out quickly. I recommend this jacket if you're looking for a durable rain shell!

I was looking for a lightweight jacket that I could travel with and layer over warmer clothes and this is the trick!

best light weight rain jacket
This rain jacket is seriously my favorite fall item! Great for layering under the coat. Repels water so well while still being ver durable. I have a dog who loves to rough play with some sharp teeth and nails. This jacket has withstood 3 years so far and I expect many more! Couldn’t recommend this more.

Lightweight, great fit, comfortable and stays dry even through long downpours. Great for backpacking and long treks in the backcountry.

Solid jacket
Lightweight and durable. My only complaint is that, while the hood is great for accommodating helmets and ponytails, there is not an adjustment for when you want to wear the hood without a helmet. You can tighten the opening, but I would love to also be able to pull the hood back and Velcro it so that my hoodie doesn't cover up my eyes when in use. Granted I have a smaller than average head, but I imagine this would still be an issue with people with average sized heads.

Great piece
Outdoors in the Pacific NW inevitably involves rain. I find this jacket very water proof whether hiking in the mountains or walking around the neighborhood. It's a good outer layer on soggy days, and very packable. A great piece of gear, that can be appreciated by novice and expert alike. Highly functional and beautiful too! Whether headed for a summer hike, or winter xc-skiing, pack this a long as a waterproof top layer (or single layer).
